Vins Bellier is a vineyard of forty hectares producing white, red and rosé wines appellation Cheverny, white wines from Appellation Cour – Cheverny, as well as traditional method wines. The average age of the family vineyard is around 20 years old, with older plots and more recent, regularly planted plots. The planting densities are 5555 ft / ha with inter-row space of 1.80 m which facilitates the work on the ground.

The whole estate is based on a thick layer of Beauce limestone, covered on the one hand by a clay-siliceous soil, and on the other hand, sandy – rocky soils that sometimes tend to be loamy. The first type of soil is mostly occupied by the red Pinot Noir grapes, Gamay on a vast plateau, the second is preferred to the white grape (Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Romorantin) on a hillside exposed North West. After a vineyard driving both sharp and modern (pruner, mechanical / pneumatic spraying) and traditional (tillage) mechanical harvesting can begin, the authorized base yields are often 30 to 40hl for reds and rosés, 40 to 50hl for whites.

Vinification with temperature control is done in stainless steel vats. At the end, the blends are chosen according to the taste qualities of each cuvée and the orientations of the appellation. The grape varieties used are: 80% Pinot noir – 20% Gamay for the reds and rosés of Cheverny, 80% Sauvignon – 20% Chardonnay for the whites of Cheverny, 100% Romorantin for Cour-Cheverny whites. Sparkling white wines made according to the traditional method come mainly from the Chardonnay grape, the rosés come from the Pinot Noir grape variety.

Vins Bellier is concerned about the respect of the environment, the production is conducted and certified under the label TERRA VITIS : Which “The signature of French winemakers who respect nature and men, and develop wines for your pleasure”.
