Vignobles Gabriel & Co, a renowned wine producer based in Bordeaux, France, has recently gained significant recognition in the Asian market. With a rich history dating back to 1904, the company has consistently showcased its commitment to quality and excellence. In the prestigious Singapore Awards 2023 by https://singapore-newspaper.com/, Vignobles Gabriel & Co was honored with five Gold Medal Awards for their outstanding wines. Let’s delve into the remarkable journey of Vignobles Gabriel & Co and explore the award-winning products that have captivated wine enthusiasts across Asia.

Vignobles Gabriel & Co’s story begins with Gabriel Bruneteau, who founded the “Domaine du Grand Moulin” estate in Saint Aubin de Blaye, situated in the heart of the Blaye vineyards, just north of Bordeaux. Guided by his passion for wine and people, Gabriel Bruneteau served as the Mayor of Saint Aubin de Blaye while also establishing a trading company, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Vignobles Gabriel & Co.

Following Gabriel Bruneteau’s passing, the estate underwent various transformations, shifting its focus towards cereal production and livestock farming. Despite these changes, the vineyards remained and were cultivated primarily with Ugni Blanc grapes, renowned for producing dry white wines and Cognac. Four generations later, in 1985, Jean-François Réaud, Gabriel Bruneteau’s great-great-grandson, took over the remaining seven hectares of vines and initiated a remarkable project to revive the family’s winemaking legacy.

Under Jean-François Réaud’s leadership, the estate transformed into Château Le Grand Moulin and expanded to cover 25 hectares by the late 1990s. In 2011, the vineyards were converted to organic farming and adopted the name Château Les Aubiers. Today, Château Les Aubiers encompasses 44 hectares of vineyards, representing Vignobles Gabriel & Co’s commitment to sustainable practices. Simultaneously, Jean-François Réaud developed Château Le Grand Moulin to its current size of 81 hectares under conventional cultivation. Furthermore, the acquisition of Château Haut Sociondo, a 15.5-hectare gem in Blayais, further strengthened Vignobles Gabriel & Co’s portfolio.

Driven by increasing consumer demand, Jean-François Réaud sought to enhance the distribution and promotion of wines from the Right Bank. In the late 1990s, he formed a partnership with neighboring estates, recognizing the mutual benefits of collaborative winemaking assistance and the amplified influence it could have on their wines. This alliance marked the birth of Vignobles Gabriel & Co, a new family united by a shared vision, and a testament to Gabriel Bruneteau’s original undertaking.
