Organic and Biodynamic Wines of Mas Llossanes

Must read

Mas Llossanes is a new wine estate in Roussillon, Southern France, founded in 2016 by Solenn and Dominique Génot. Using organic and biodynamic viticulture, the couple produces wines from vineyards of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Chenanson, and Chasan in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. Here the vines are conducted according to the principles of organic farming, in order to obtain healthy and tasty grapes that produce great Côtes du Roussillon wines.

Mas Llossanes exploitation of about 12 hectares vineyards, is located in Roussillon, in front of the emblematic mountain of the Catalan Country, the mount Canigou.

Mas Llossanes vineyard is straddling the Occitan country (village of Tarerach) and the Catalan country (Arboussols village), 40 km from Perpignan (North Catalonia, FRANCE).

The name Mas Llossanes comes from the name of one of the localities that welcomes their vines. It means “Lieu-Saint” in French. According to legend, this name will come from an episode of plague that devastated the country, but spared this place, which remained a “healthy” place. The presence of a magnificent Neolithic dolmen on these lands identifies it as an ancestral place of worship, a “holy place”. In conversion for organic farming since its creation in 2016, the vineyard enjoys the ideal Mediterranean climate and exceptional granite arena soil. The farm is certified by ECOCERT FRANCE.

This 2019, Mas Llossanes has joined Singapore Newspaper Wines, Spirits and Beers Competition and won a gold medal:
