Natural Sparkling Mineral Water with gentle fizz Perlage

0
Nałęczów Zdrój Sp. z o. o - Singapore Newspaper

The history of the Cisowianka mineral water began in 1979, when it was first extracted from aquifers. Its name comes from the health resort “Cisy” invented by Stefan Żeromski and described in Homeless People.

At first, the Cisowianka mineral water was available only in the Lublin region, where it quickly became liked and popular water.

At that time, the greatest good of the people’s homeland was coal, even known as black gold. Cisowianka mineral water was so good that Silesia readily accepted it as an equivalent for the coal shipped.

In Silesia, Cisowianka water quickly became very fashionable and popular. Its popularity among the working people of Silesian towns and villages was so great that it quickly became a scarce commodity, which, after being “thrown” into the store, very quickly disappeared from it, and a bottle of Cisowianka could always deal with a few “impossible” matters.

The golden times for Cisowianka came with the 21st century. It was then that this natural mineral water was known and loved by all of Poland. Currently, we can enjoy it not only in our country. Cisowianka in the Perlage version is dynamically entering foreign markets. The blue bottle already has its devoted fans, for example on the Arabian peninsula, where luxury customers choose only the best.

What distinguishes Cisowinaka is special care to meet customer expectations. The world is rushing forward, consumer needs are changing and we are trying to keep pace with these changes. Hence the wide range of our mineral water – elegant small bottles of Cisowianka Perlage, comfortable sports bottles, cans and other types of packaging. Cisowianka is water for everyone, for every possible occasion.

When you drive through the charming surroundings of Nałęczów to the Cisowianka water bottling plant, you do not expect to see such a view. Among the hilly terrain, you can see a huge, very modern plant, where all the buildings are inscribed in the landscape. And one more thing that amazes after getting out of the car – it’s very quiet there. You can hardly hear the machines working, no engines whirring, no turbine noise.

The plant where Cisowianka is spilled is one of the most modern in Europe. Just below it, about 100 meters into the ground, there are natural mineral water. This is important because thanks to this, the water avoids long transport in pipes, during which undesirable factors can penetrate it.

On over 20,000 square meters, under the roof, there are 8 bottling lines, separate for glass and separate for cans. To get to them, employees go through special ultra-modern rooms, so that they do not bring even the smallest pollen into the production hall. The temperature in the hall is always the same, the pressure is very high and the air is constantly exchanged. This is due to the fact that the water does not come into contact with chemicals at any stage of pouring – hence special procedures to keep it perfectly clean. A very technologically advanced laboratory watches over the safety of water throughout the bottling process.

The water bottles in the pallets go to the high bay warehouse, which has its own inventory management system. At the warehouse, a dozen or so loading docks are waiting for cars to take water to the stores. If we add to this the unique Water & Wine restaurant concept and stylish offices with panoramic windows, decorated in a minimalist but very elegant way, we have a full picture of one of the most modern plants in Europe, which at the same time harmonizes with the surrounding nature.

Very recently, Nałęczów Zdrój Sp. z o. o joined Singapore Awards 2021 and won a GOLD Medal in this prestigious competition:

Natural mineral water with gentle fizz Perlage

Awarded Gold by Singapore Newspaper

Perlage is a natural mineral water bottled at the source in the Nałęczów Spa area. For more than 250 years the region is famous for its specific microclimate and sanatorium complex which specializes in curing cardiovascular problems and hypertension. Thanks to its mineralization and low sodium level Perlage is recommended for people with health issues such as heart and blood pressure disorders.

Perlage is bottled with using specially created technology of saturating natural mineral water with carbon dioxide of natural origin. Thanks to this unique method the bubbles are very small and release slowly. It is perfect for sparkling water lovers as well as for those who prefer still one. The delicate fizziness is similar to one you may find in high quality sparkling wines. Subtle water taste, low sodium level and these tiny bubbles (which clean the taste buds) make this water a superb companion of food and wine.

Domaine Cécile Chassagne : High Quality Taste of Gigondas Wine

0
Domaine Cécile Chassagne - Singapore Newspaper

Domaine Cécile Chassagne was created in 1998, with a surface of 2,5 acres. Located in the heart of Dentelles de Montmirail, in terraces, the vineyard culminates at around 300 meters of altitude, on the heights of the “lieu-dit” named “le Pourra”. The vines were planted by her father, Jean-Claude Chassagne in 1970. The different variety grapes are : blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah is made in a traditional method without destemming. A long fermentation in open-topped wood tanks is followed by aging the wine for four months in Allier oak casks. The resulting wine is a medium-bodied, meaty and elegant expression of Gigondas terroir.

Drinking Gigondas is like touching the sky .To be certain to taste a very high quality wine and spend a pleasant moment around a nice bottle of wine. I highly recommend you to enjoy this nectar, to create the opportunity to make this moment unique and memorable at one and the same time, without waiting any longer. Gigondas is a place where life is pleasant since the ancient times and ‘Carpe Diem” is my motto. As winemaker, my aim is to provide joy and and cheerfulness to lovers of Gigondas wine !

Very recently, Domaine Cécile Chassagne has joined Singapore Awards 2021 and won two gold medal in this prestigious competition:

A cofermented blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, aged in older oak, it displays medium to full body, the charming, moderate depth of the vintage, and ripe, sweet tannins. It’s going to drink nicely right out of the gate and keep for a decade.

Question 1: Do you already export to Singapore ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Singapore ?

Answer : No I don’t export to Singapore.

Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?

Answer :  The location of the vineyard : it is located at 350 meters of altitude, only terraces in “Dentelles de Montmirail” (mountain of Gigondas), with an exceptional exposure, due west (vines are sunny all day long) The vineyard was planted by my father 50 years ago.The vines are quite old, with a low yield and a nice concentration, that you find in the bottle…

The tannins are very soft because the fermentation is made in oak barrel.

Answer : I started my estate in 1998, and since the very beginning I decided, after international trade studies, to export. But not in Asia until now.

Domaines Jean Durup Père & Fils - Singapore Newspaper

Interview of Mr. Cédric Steinberg – Export Manager

Question 1: Do you already export to Singapore ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Singapore ?

At this point in time, we do not have any importer or distributor of our premium wines from Chablis in Singapore but it’s our priority for this New Year 2021. Since the end of last year, we have recruited a commercial agent who lives in Singapore for over 10 years. If you are interested in distributing our great wines from Chablis, please feel free to contact Mr. Olivier Negron under the following mail-address: olivier.negron@gmail.com

Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?

Our main qualitative and competitive advantage is that the Durup family vineyards (200 ha as own properties) contain a high concentration of steep, well-exposed hillsides of rocky soil, terrain that guarantees the exceptional quality of the wine. And the most important concern of the estate is and has always been to reach the best possible quality. That’s the reason why our wines are sold worldwide and are on the wine list of the “stars Michelin” restaurants in France and the most famous ones around the world.

Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years ?

The estate has always been export-oriented, for the simple reason that the wines from Chablis benefit from an international reputation for historical and cultural reasons.

We are looking forward to developing our business over the coming years mainly in Asia.

La Scolca’s Timeless Quality Wines and Sparkling Wines

0
La Scolca - Singapore Newspaper

La Scolca estate was purchased between 1917 and 1919 by Giorgio Soldati’s great-grandfather, the current owner, who now runs the company together with his daughter, Chiara Soldati

The land was used in part to produce grain at the time of the purchase, in 1919, and the rest was covered by forest. There was a well-studied plan for the Soldati family: to plant Cortese vineyards in an area traditionally used to grow only red grapes. The production soon became a major technical enterprise. La Scolca is the oldest company in the area for continuity of management by the same family. It is also the most modern.

The surname Soldati “soldiers” is particularly symbolic of the approach taken by the company’s owners. The name of the property, as well, is symbolic. La Scolca comes from “Sfurca” or “Look off into the distance” and the farmhouse that stood there was exactly that – a lookout post.

These names reflect the proud and tenacious character of the owners and their wines.

The Vineyard

La Scolca has its vineyards in the most beautiful locations in Rovereto, and its “Gavi dei Gavi”® represents the very best of the wine the can be found in this microarea. But this exciting result does not come exclusively because of the fortunate position of our vineyards: it is also the fruit of well-considered enological practice. With raw materials and conditions similar to other producers in the area, our expertise permits us to always be one step ahead.

The Cortese grapes, for example, in the Gavi region, near Novi Ligure, result in a wine with an aristocratic personality – basic and intense, durable and elegant; and, within the borders of the small municipality of Gavi, the best results are obtained in the Rovereto district. If we classify the region as is done in France, Rovereto di Gavi would be, without any doubt, the “Grand Cru” of the Cortese grape.

The Gavi wine made from the Cortese grape was actually invented here at La Scolca in the 1950s. It has since become a classic.

La Scolca - Singapore Newspaper

The Company manages an area of about 50 hectares of vineyards, consisting of about 200 km. of rows of vines. During a single crop season, these rows are visited from eight to ten times, on foot or by a tractor. The distance from the plant to plant ranges from 90 cm to 2.4 metres. The density is about 4500 vines per hectare. All the vineyards are in the best sites of Rovereto di Gavi. Sea air, full sunlight exposure from sunrise to sunset, coolness and minimal dews. All of these elements create the proper alternating conditions that are ideal for a complete and correct ripening of the grapes, a prerequisite for good wine.

Very recently, La Scolca has joined Singapore Awards 2021 and won a gold medal in this prestigious competition:

Gavi DOCG “GAVI DEI GAVI” ™ – Black Label 2019 Vintage

Awarded Gold Medal by Singapore Newspaper

Gavi wine obtained the DOC in 1974 and later the DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) in 1998. A few years before the DOC Gavi, La Scolca® began the production of wine which, even today, can be considered the most representative of the company and also a brand known all over the world: Gavi dei Gavi ®, a trademark registered in Europe since 1969 and in the United States since 1971, better known as “Black Label”.

A high quality wine can only be made from grapes grown in places where there is harmony between the soil, the climate, the altitude, the exposure and the processes that combine innovation and tradition, in order to obtain scents and full aromas as during the tasting of La Scolca® “Gavi dei Gavi®”. Always seeking superior quality is the guarantee by the La Scolca® Brand and also its philosophy: to obtain an excellent wine, excellent grapes are needed. It is a difficult job to produce wine “in the vineyard” rather than “in the cellar”, that is, to grow the best grapes possible and to make the wine come from a high quality raw material. The results of this processing are evident during the tasting: the most complex and elegant wine, with personality attributable to the terroir.

The black label, “G Soldati G” (the Soldati family signs this special wine with its family name, as a seal of quality) is a surprising wine. Gavi dei Gavi ® is noble and unique; well known among jet-setters and royalty, but remains deeply attached to its origins. The wine must recall the emotion. Wine is passion and for this reason the quality of Gavi La Scolca® manages to overcome fashions and trends, with a strong personality and great character. It is very difficult to forget Gavi La Scolca® after tasting it.

Interview of Ms. Chiara Soldati

CEO – Export Manager

Question 1: Do you already export to Singapore ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Singapore ?

We are looking for an Importer & distributor  in Singapore with a qualified portfolio. The Asian market is really strategic for our Company.

In 2020 La Scolca celebrated its 100th harvest . The Centennial was a  celebrations and a tribute to all lovers of La Scolca, both young and old, who love to get together and toast the achievement of this extraordinary product from the Gavi region in Italy.

The company’s determination to modernize extends to its internal organization and management techniques. New collaborative partnerships and continuing investment play an important role in improving La Scolca’s competitiveness and in facing the challenges of the global market specially we have a focus to increase Asian market and obviously, Singapore where we are looking forward to find a distribution.

There is no shortage of praise and acclamation for having reached the Centennial milestone.  The latest comes from the Singapore Newspaper sponsored Singapore Awards 2021 with the conferring of the Gold Medal to La Scolca.  The prize recognizes the commitment, dedication and the visionary approach of the Soldati Family and, in particular, of Chiara, a true emissary of Italian excellence and lifestyle in the world.

Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?

“These 100 years tell the story of our identity,” proudly states Chiara Soldati. “Our DNA is made up of passion, courage and the willingness to make unconventional choices…to look forward and anticipate the future without betraying our origins – as we have done since 1919 when the company was founded – a century of investment in the Gavi region, a region in which we have always believed,  and the resolve to experiment and grow continuously without compromise.”

Chiara continues “…this is a job that can only be done if you have enthusiasm, dedication, love for wine and a strong inner motivation. How do I see the world of wine looking to the future? The international market is in a phase of great change, so producers of indigenous wines such as La Scolca must further define their niche of excellence. This is precisely the strength of Made in Italy, creating value for a niche. “

“We have a new young collaborator who is carrying out a tourism project that we hope to be able to present and inaugurate soon – adds Chiara Soldati – to always look ahead, ready for new challenges and opportunities:” memento audere semper “.

And after 100 years, La Scolca is always closer to its public, both to toast and celebrate every special moment and to make every normal day extraordinary.

Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years ?

We started to export wine more than 40 years ago !

La Scolca with its 100 years of history and the 100th harvest is equipped to continue its strategic and operational activities both in the vineyard and in the international markets.

Meanwhile, the company continues to carry on all the other projects it has started: the expansion of the new cellar inaugurated last year, the works for the enlargment of the welcoming and tasting area, the enhancement of the digital sector and technological innovation, and the fundamental work of business coaching and motivation of the internal team, new digital wine tastings for professional sommelier and wine lover.

We are always focused to find new markets and new partner. We need to find ambassadors of wine culture before to find business partnership.

At the center of the our  projects are two unforgettable wines that symbolize the company’s success: Black Label Gavi dei Gavi – known for the complexity and elegance of its aromas and its long and intense flavor – and  La Scolca D ‘Antan, La Scolca’s

Gorgeous  wine, produced only in the best years, with at least 10 years of aging. Both are wines with unique aromas and flavors that have conquered the world’s most prestigious tables.

The company has embarked upon several new and important initiatives.

An increasingly interactive website aimed at the international community of consumers and enthusiasts – actors increasingly decisive for the success of a brand in the complex and crowded wine market – and a renewed partnership with importers, distributors, and retailers. A newly renovated wine cellar and production facility, which will open its doors to visitors and aficionados from all over Italy and the world in March. The cantina, itself, will become an immersive taste experience for everyone.

Bookings are now open and can be made on the site www.lascolca.net.

Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan : Great & Excellent Wines from Bordeaux

0
Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan

Jean Gueridon has been running a 50 ha family estate since 1990, created in 1852 on the slopes of the right bank of the Garonne, in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers. A sure bet for Bordeaux and Entre-Deux-Mers AOCs with its two labels: Ch. Haut Pougnan, original stronghold, and Ch. Les Moutins, acquired in 1995.

The red wines from Merlots (50%), Cabernets Sauvignons (40%) and Cabernets Francs (10%) reflect the trilogy of the Bordeaux grape varieties. For white wines, Sauvignon (70%), Semillion (25%) and Muscadelle (5%) give them a finesse and a prestigious bouquet. The red, robust, fruity wine has a particularly well calculated tanicity.

In a very beautiful dress, it continues to please by its elegance and balance in the mouth.

The white wine is of great finesse and a remarkable bouquet. Entre-Deux-Mers of pleasure and wonderful accompaniment. The rosé wine, with a light robe and a fine nose, finishes on the palate fruity, lively and robust. White wines are tasted young. They go wonderfully with fish and seafood dishes. Rosé wines go well with hors-d’oeuvre or charcuterie. These wines evolve favorably the first two years.

The red wine aged one year in oak barrels flourishes after three to five years. The great vintages age harmoniously in cellar from eight to ten years.

This 2021, Scea Château Haut Pougnan has joined Singapore Newspaper Wines, Spirits and Beers Competition and won Two Gold Medal in this competition:

Singapore Food Imports: Tips for exporting in Asia’s most competitive economy

0
Singapore Food Imports

Singapore, also known as the Lion City, is an extremely attractive Asian market which imports more than 90% of its food from producers from more than 160 countries worldwide.

The city state’s population of around 5.6 million benefits from a very diverse supply of food, thanks mostly to the Government’s successful policies that encouraged the development of partnerships with a wide range of countries that export food. Recently, for example, Singapore’s Agri-food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) organised a number of trade missions which led to imports of fresh fruit from producers from Central Europe and South Africa or meat from Denmark.

The country is actively looking to diversify and solidify the internal food supply, opening the road for food exporters from other parts of the world who are willing to focus on working with food importers and retailers from Singapore.

The retailer option

Initiating talks with some of Singapore’s main food retailers – Dairy Farm International (Cold Storage, Giant), Sheng Siong Group or Fairprice can be a good initial strategy for market entry. The retailers often act as direct importers, especially for larger volumes of products, which have long shelf life. They sometimes also have representatives who take part in trade missions or visit industry specific fairs, looking for new product lines and niche items.

Working with food importers and distributors is another approach, and companies are advised to try to focus on one solid partnership that can develop long-term, considering Singapore’s relatively small size. A list of food importers from Singapore can be found here.

Main imports

Food has a very important role in the life of many Singaporeans and the diverse ethnic mix in the city state has also created an amazing food culture. Meat, especially pork is present in a large number of dishes, as well as fish. Singapore imports most of its fish and seafood from the region, from Indonesia, Thailand or Malaysia, while pork is imported from 29 countries which are currently approved by AVA. Countries like Canada, the US, Brazil or the Netherlands are among the top exporters. Australia is also one of Singapore’s main trade partners for a variety of food items, including meat, dairy, vegetables, processed as well as organic foods.

Fruits like watermelons, bananas or oranges are mainly imported from Malaysia, China and the USA, while the top sources of vegetables are again Malaysia, China and Australia.

The country’s slowly ageing population has also increased the demand for ready meals, easy to cook and other convenience foods.
