Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan: A Taste of Excellence in Bordeaux’s Finest Wines

0
Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan by Singapore Newspaper

Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan, a prestigious winery located in the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers, has won four gold medals for their outstanding wines at the Singapore Awards 2023. The awarded wines include the chateau haut pougnan aoc bordeaux blanc 2022, chateau haut pougnan aoc entre deux mers 2022, chateau les moutins aoc bordeaux blanc 2022, and chateau les moutins aoc entre deux mers 2022.

The vineyards of Chateau Haut-Pougnan extend over the slopes of the right bank of the Garonne on superb clay-limestone and gravelly soils. The eastern and southern slopes are home to red wine vineyards, while the western slopes remain the domain of white wines. The clay-limestone nature of these soils allows the winery to produce very fine wines with a subtle bouquet.

The red wines made from Merlots (50%), Cabernets Sauvignons (40%), and Cabernets Francs (10%) reflect the trilogy of Bordeaux grape varieties. The red wine is full-bodied, fruity, and has a well-calculated tannicity, making it a perfect accompaniment for hearty meals.

For white wines, Sauvignon (70%), Sémillion (25%), and Muscadelle (5%) give them finesse and a prestigious bouquet. The white wine is of great finesse and a remarkable bouquet, making it a perfect partner for fish and seafood dishes.

The rosé wine with a light color and a fine nose ends in a fruity, lively, and robust mouth. Rosé wines are perfect with appetizers or charcuterie, and they evolve favorably during the first two years.

Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan’s wines are enjoyed young, but some can be aged to perfection. The red wine aged for one year in oak barrels blossoms after three to five years. The great vintages age harmoniously in the cellar for eight to ten years.

Scea Chateau Haut Pougnan’s wines are the perfect embodiment of the art of winemaking. The gold medal awards won at the Singapore Awards 2023 are a testament to the winery’s dedication to producing top-quality wines that appeal to wine lovers worldwide. Taste the Essence of Marlborough: Nautilus Estate’s Award-Winning Wines Now Available in Singapore

Nautilus Estate - Singapore Newspaper

Nautilus Estate, a renowned winery located in Marlborough, New Zealand, has recently won the Gold Medal Awards in Singapore for its exceptional wines. The award-winning wines include Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Nautilus Chardonnay 2021, The Paper Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc 2021, and Nautilus Southern Valleys Pinot Noir 2019.

Nautilus Estate has been known for its energetic and innovative viticultural and winemaking team, which takes a unique approach of blending several different fruit parcels to achieve layers of complexity in the wines. This approach allows them to focus on the texture and mouthfeel of their wines, making them even more enjoyable.

While Nautilus wines can be enjoyed on their own, they are even better when paired with delicious food. The philosophy of creating food-friendly wines is paramount for winemaker Clive Jones. Marlborough, where Nautilus Estate is located, is a stunningly beautiful grape-growing region situated on the northeastern corner of the South Island of New Zealand at 41.3 degrees south.

The region is sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds, derived from the roaring forties, and from the southerly winds which funnel up from Antarctica. The region’s local climate is moderated by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, which creates a cool, maritime climate. Marlborough enjoys some of the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand, averaging over 2,400 hours annually.

The average summer (January) temperature of 23.8°C and winter (July) average of 12.8°C belie a large diurnal temperature range: a variation of 15°C/60°F between the cool clear nights and bright sunny days is not uncommon. Daytime temperatures over the harvest period of March/April average 19°C – 21.5 °C, with a nighttime temperature range of 7.5°C – 10.5°C. This diurnal temperature range is significant for the accumulation and retention of flavors.

Nautilus draws grapes from specially selected sites in each of Marlborough’s three main sub-regions, each of which has distinctive soils and climatic characteristics. This allows Nautilus to harness their diverse flavor components to add layers of complexity into their wines.

As a distributor or importer of wines and beverages in Singapore, it’s essential to recognize and appreciate the quality of Nautilus Estate’s wines. With their innovative and unique approach to winemaking, Nautilus Estate has proven time and time again that their wines are exceptional and worthy of recognition. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or a distributor of fine wines, Nautilus Estate’s wines are a must-try.

If you want to learn more about Nautilus Estate and their award-winning wines, I highly recommend visiting their website at https://www.nautilusestate.com/. On their website, you can explore their range of wines, learn about their winemaking philosophy, and discover the unique characteristics of the Marlborough region. You can also purchase their wines directly from their website or find a list of distributors in your region. With their state-of-the-art but small-scale winemaking facilities, Nautilus Estate is committed to producing exceptional wines that truly capture the essence of Marlborough’s terroir. So, if you’re a wine lover or a distributor of fine wines in Singapore, be sure to check out Nautilus Estate’s website and experience the taste of their award-winning wines.

To adapt to Nutri-Grade, a Singapore beverage company will introduce new low-sugar products

To adapt to Nutri-Grade, a Singapore beverage company will introduce new low-sugar products by Singapore Newspaper

Local beverage companies are reformulating and developing low-sugar product options in order to avoid potential repercussions as a result of Singapore’s impending introduction of its sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) labeling system Nutri-Grade, including upcycled drinks company Imperfect Drinks.

The Nutri-Grade concept was first proposed by the Singaporean government in 2020. Following multiple setbacks brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is presently planned to be implemented in December 2022.

The Nutri-Grade system will use nutrient labels with four different grades, ranging from lowest to highest in terms of sugar and saturated fat content: “A” (dark green), “B” (light green), “C” (yellow), and “D” (red). For beverages in grades C and D, the front-of-pack label (FoPL) will be required to be used.
