Champagne Laurent Lequart : Four generations of family winemakers

Must read

For decades, the Lequart family has worked on its 10 hectare vineyards in Passy Grigny, in the heart of the Marne Valley, deeply rooted in its roots and fascinated by wine.

Champagne Laurent Lequart is a firm part of the wine growing community, four generations of family wine makers and with a mindset of quality of quantity via a production of approximately 80,000 bottles per year. They are focused also on their organic wine-making techniques with focus on respecting todays environment and allowing as best as they can for nature to produce the quality that a label carrying the name of Champagne.

As with any wine, what matters most is what’s inside the bottle, and this is where Laurent’s enthusiasm shines through. I was fortunate enough to have a private tasting with Laurent and Kevin Sibille, who works closely with the Laurent Lequart company, where I was able to sample their distinct Champagne style.

Question 1: Do you already export to Singapore? If yes, where? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Singapore?

We are not currently selling our wines to Singapore

Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors?

The biggest difference is that our production is mainly focused on MEUNIER grapes. More than 80% of our production, and our wine are also focused on this grape variety. We have in total 4 different 100% MEUNIER? Representing our terroir.

Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years?

I started a little bit in 2012, but it really stated in 2015, when KEVIN SIBILLE, our Export Manager has joined our company to develop our Export activity. Now it’s around 35% of our sales which are made abroad. Our Plan is to develop Asia and soon be at least at 50% Export, all around the world.
