The project of producing high quality craft beer comes true very shortly and tradition meets modernity: the genuineness of raw materials combined with the highest standards of production innovation.
The malts used arise from barley which is exclusively grown in the family farm, so Flea production has an important and transparent peculiar characteristic: the short food supply chain.
The Flea brewery, started at Umbria in Gualdo Tadino by Matteo Minelli during 2013. The brand Birra Flea is inspired by Rocca Flea, an ancient medieval fortress located in the upper part of the city and the various beers take their names by the local historical protagonists.
The company is focused on ecological models and their production is completely green-oriented. In 2019 the company were able to grant up to about 60.000 hectoliters due to its new additional plant, which will be ecological as well.
The Flea brewery is well equipped and currently selling all over the world particularly to Canada and Australia and the possibilities of distribution to other countries in Asia like Singapore in the future.
And this 22019, Birra Flea has joined Singapore Newspaper Wines, Spirits and Beers Competition and won 2 gold medal and a silver medal:

Interview of Mr. Matteo Minelli

Question 1: Do you already export to Singapore ? If yes, where ? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Singapore ?
Thank your for your questions. Even though we do not export to Singapore yet, we will definitely want it, since we have the possibility to do it, because our Company is well organised and big enough for any kind of request.
We are looking for any kind of distributor, since as said we are naturally oriented to the internationalization.
Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors ?
About 90% of used barley comes from our internal production, our brewery is completely independent from an energetic point of view. Therefore our production is totally independent, and raw materials are local, except for some particular hops that we want to get outside. Therefore, we are talking about a real made in Italy model.
Our company is focused on ecological models and so our production is completely green-oriented, even though we are currently extend our production capacity up to almost 60.000 hectoliters per year.
In 2018 we sold 12.000 hl and we have run out of the capacity, but as mentioned in 2019 we are able to grant up to about 60.000 hl due to our new additional plant, which will be ecological as well.
Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years ?
We are naturally oriented to export, we are currently selling all over the world, since we are customers from Canada to Australia.
Moreover, we will be happy to invite distributors in order to let them see our new additional plant.
For your information, our company is also investing in spirits (gin, rum and the also whiskey) tonic water and soft drinks as well.
In this respect, we are able to satisfy any kind of requests for drinks, and everything is an excellent made in Italy, and we are proud of such results.
